Hey South Africans abroad,
You are now inside two weeks of 4 November. This is the last calm window to check the South African account that pays your real costs.
If that account is thin, election week is a bad time to discover it. Family chats get louder. Logins fail at odd hours. A debit order does not care.
This is a float check for people funding South Africa from the UK, Australia, Dubai or the USA. It is not a campaign recap.

What the float is
The float is the Rand already sitting in the account that pays:
- bond or levies
- medical aid
- school or university clearance
- parent support on its usual date
- funeral policy or small life cover
- a helper’s wage or car premium you already own
If the balance covers the next two collections of each dated item, you are done with operations. If it does not, top up the shortfall this week.

What not to do with the top-up
Do not turn the shortfall into a new strategy.
- Do not add a large “just in case” lump sum because a headline sounded bad.
- Do not change which account pays the bond.
- Do not promise a sibling a new monthly amount in the same transfer.
Put any remaining view in a market
If you still think the Rand gets noisier into 4 November, or that USD/ZAR ends the year somewhere else, that view belongs on Polymarket.co.za.
The float is not the hedge. The float is what keeps debit orders alive if you cannot log in on election morning.

Final word
Local sites will stay loud until the vote. Your constraint from abroad is narrower: can the account pay what it already owes if you cannot touch it for a few days?
Confirm the float. Leave the big decisions frozen. Trade the risk on Polymarket.co.za.
